Mostra collettiva alla “Galleria Casa Dugnani”
Nel nostro appuntamento di maggio, protagonisti quest’anno sono il vetro e il metallo. Elementi distanti, “improbabili amici”, lontani fra loro ma non così tanto come ci si potrebbe immaginare. Non si tratta qui di avvicinarli in strutture tradizionali, si pensi alle splendide vetrate del Duomo di Milano, o a quelle altrettanto abbaglianti della cattedrale di Chârtres. Non è questo che chiediamo ai nostri artisti. Quello che abbiamo voluto è imbrigliare, ingabbiare questi elementi trasfigurati in libere composizioni cui solo un vetraio maestro nelle forme e nei colori può dar vita. Gli esperimenti, le ricerche, le creazioni di questi artisti hanno il potere di incuriosirci, di indurci a fantasticare, di coinvolgerci con le loro forme strane, con i loro adattamenti inusuali nell’architettura e nella de- corazione. Aprire una porta al futuro – ai giovani soprattutto – è quello che ci proponiamo e ci auguriamo.
This year, in our May meeting, glass and metal are the main characters. Contrasting elements, “unlikely friends” but not so far as we might imagine. Because it is not to combine them in traditional structures (let’s think to the beautiful stained glass windows of Milan cathedral and to those equally stun- ning of the Chartres one). This is not what we are asking our artists to do. We want the two elements must be entangled, caged each other and transfigured in free compositions that only a master glassmaker is able to give them in shapes and colours. The experiments, the researches, the creations of these artists have the power to inspire our fantasy and curiosity, to involve us in their odd shapes, their unusual architectural and decorative adaptations. Let’s open a door to the future – mainly to young people – this is what we aim to and hope.
