Lorenzo Passi was born in Milan in 1985. His enthusiasm for glass began in 2005, after graduating from the “Francesco Arcangeli” Art Institute in Bologna. He had just turned 20 when he began his Murano apprenticeship in the well-known Glass Art workshops of Archimede Seguso and Oscar Zanetti, and started learning the techniques for manufacturing blown and solid-worked glass.
In 2009 he moved to Nuutajärvi in Finland, where he continued his studies on glass and its workmanship at the “Nuutajärven Lasikouli”, graduating three years later. In Finland, he was able to experiment on working on various materials together, such as glass and wood, and glass and metal: the latter combination will turn out to be the distinctive mark of his further work.
He returned to Italy in 2011, and moved to Venice, in order to continue working in Murano under Maestro Giovanni Nicola, heir to Maestro Archimede Seguso. He made his debut as an artist in 2013; since then, his work has appeared both in solo and collective exhibitions. Lorenzo Passi lives and works in Venice.
